El Papa Francisco

Autor:

Father Michael Collins

Written in Latin-American Spanish, El Papa Francisco: Semblanza Fotográfica del Papa del Pueblo is a beautiful celebration of the first Jesuit and Latin American pope and offers a rare look at life behind the scenes with His Holiness Pope Francis. Inspiring photographs from one of Pope Francis' official photographers, Rodolfo Felici, capture both significant and informal events, from papal visits throughout the world to spontaneous moments at the Vatican, creating an exceptionally intimate portrait of the pope and an inside look at papal life. In El Papa Francisco: Semblanza Fotográfica del Papa del Pueblo, this close-up is coupled with the inside knowledge of author Father Michael Collins, a former adviser at the Vatican, who provides a complete look at the workings of the papacy and the Holy City. Created in full cooperation with the Vatican, El Papa Francisco: Semblanza Fotográfica del Papa del Pueblo is a beautiful tribute to His Holiness Pope Francis, a true pope of the people. Also available in English edition. Author Bio: Father Michael Collins is a native of Glenageary in south county Dublin and studied theology at the University College Dublin. He has taught in a number of universities, including the American University of Rome; John Cabot University; and Duquesne University, Rome Campus, and he currently serves in St. Mary's Church in Dublin. Father Michael Collins has authored many books, including DK's The Vatican, and writes regular columns for the Catholic Times and the Irish Times. Find out more: www.fathermichaelcollins.com. One of the pope's official photographers, Rodolfo Felici, carries on a tradition of papal photography first started in the late 19th century by his great-great-great grandfather Giuseppe Felici. Rodolfo, a qualified architect with a postgraduate education in Architecture, Sacred Arts, and Liturgy, started to work in Vatican in 1999 accompanying his father to audiences with Pope John Paul II, helping him to change the rolls of film. Today, Studio Felici is still a family-run business, and Rodolfo works with his father, brother, cousin and uncle, taking photographs of ceremonies performed by Pope Francis and of the Pope going about his daily life. Reviews: "The book holds true to DK's other works: It is a joy to read and to look at." — The Advocate "Through this book, the reader gains not only countless insights into the heart of Pope Francis, but a deeper understanding of and appreciation for the papacy and our Catholic faith. Catholic Standard For every Catholic institution coffee table and many a Catholic home.
